Edward Maddison is the Clinical Lead and Head of Operations at FOOT CARE, bringing 27 years of clinical experience to the service after a long and established career within the NHS. He is degree‑trained at honours level (BSc Hons Podiatry) and remains actively involved in frontline podiatry care alongside his leadership role.

Edward works across all FOOT CARE branches, supporting walk‑in clinics, complex assessments, and advanced clinical decision‑making. He provides hands‑on podiatric treatment while also overseeing clinical governance, standards, and multidisciplinary working, ensuring care is safe, consistent, and evidence‑based.

His areas of specialist practice include:

• Nail pathology, including fungal nail management (reduction, thinning, and debridement), ingrown and involuted nails, and nail reconstruction

• Skin and lesion management, including heavy or extensive callus, corns, cracked heels, and painful or recurrent lesions

• Verruca treatment, including debridement, silver nitrate therapy, and cryotherapy

• Wound and ulcer care, including enhanced wound reviews, ongoing management, and non‑complex ulcer care

• High‑risk foot and diabetes care, including diabetic foot reviews, high‑risk assessments, and vascular screening using Doppler assessment

• Biomechanical and musculoskeletal assessment, including gait analysis and complex review appointments

• Additional podiatric care, including padding, strapping, dressings, basic nail painting, and fingernail care where appropriate

Known for his calm, thorough, and patient‑centred approach, Edward combines the depth and rigor of NHS clinical experience with modern private‑practice delivery. His leadership ensures patients receive the right care, at the right time, while supporting clinicians to work safely within clear clinical frameworks.
